This book , based on a series of articles in the ARchitect and Building News, describes 50 different industrialsed building techniques, which have been selected from Great Britain, France, Holland, Scandinvia, USA and Eastern Europe. They include heavy constructional systems, where either concrete walling and flooring panels are used or entire room units and kitchen units are prefabricated; a section being devoted to methods from each of the countries considered and so-called Lightwiight Techniques, Such as CLASP , in which light steel wporl and infill pane;s are used.. Some of the new materials which are developed in few years are also described. There are chapters on thermal insulation and two modern bridge projects, the Venezuels Maracaibo bridge and the Chesapeake bridge-tunnel in the USA.
