By: Material type: TextTextLanguage: English Publication details: 1968 Architectural Press LondonDescription: 208 p. (chiefly illustrations (some color), plans). 25 cmSubject(s): DDC classification:

Summary: The book deals with the design of publc interiors in Britain . This is an amplified version of the special issue of the ARchitectural Review, May 1966., Its stucture and arrangement is absed upon the thesis that in the design of interiors, which are essentially physical expressions of 'atmosphere', the key qualities of the designer are insight and sensitivity, and for these there is no substitute. To illustrate this point the examples chosen are arranged arbittrarily, under the titles as "Ceremony", 'Fantasy' and 'Geometry', which were chosen to indicate the atmosphere the interior is designed to create or evoke.
